Honest Limitations of Hydrogen Water Rheumatoid Arthritis Research
- Pilot study limitations: the Ishibashi 2012 study enrolled 20 patients, was open-label (not blinded), single-center. Larger blinded RCTs are needed before clinical recommendations can be made.
- Concentration gap: the study used 4–5 ppm H₂ — significantly higher than H2CAP Plus's 1.5 ppm. Whether 1.5 ppm produces comparable RA-specific effects is not yet established. Three daily cycles may partially compensate.
- Adjunct only: all study participants maintained conventional RA therapy. H₂ water was studied as a complement — not a substitute.
